The actual number of Kyrgyzstan casinos is something in a little doubt. As details from this state, out in the very remote central part of Central Asia, can be hard to get, this may not be all that difficult to believe. Regardless if there are 2 or 3 accredited casinos is the thing at issue, maybe not really the most consequential article of data that we do not have.

What no doubt will be accurate, as it is of the majority of the old USSR states, and certainly truthful of those located in Asia, is that there certainly is a lot more not allowed and backdoor gambling halls. The adjustment to legalized betting didn’t drive all the aforestated gambling halls to come out of the dark and become legitimate. So, the controversy over the total amount of Kyrgyzstan’s gambling halls is a minor one at best: how many accredited ones is the element we’re attempting to resolve here.

We understand that in Bishkek, the capital city, there is the Casino Las Vegas (an amazingly unique name, don’t you think?), which has both table games and slots. We will also find both the Casino Bishkek and the Xanadu Casino. The two of these offer 26 slot machines and 11 table games, divided between roulette, twenty-one, and poker. Given the amazing likeness in the square footage and setup of these 2 Kyrgyzstan casinos, it might be even more astonishing to find that they are at the same location. This appears most bewildering, so we can perhaps conclude that the list of Kyrgyzstan’s gambling halls, at least the accredited ones, ends at two casinos, one of them having altered their title not long ago.

The nation, in common with many of the ex-USSR, has experienced something of a fast adjustment to capitalism. The Wild East, you might say, to allude to the anarchical circumstances of the Wild West a century and a half ago.

Kyrgyzstan’s gambling halls are almost certainly worth visiting, therefore, as a piece of social analysis, to see cash being gambled as a form of social one-upmanship, the conspicuous consumption that Thorstein Veblen wrote about in 19th century u.s..
