There is an appealing background to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the border from nearby Thailand, in which casino gambling is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally small location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the normal table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international vacation and hotel compound that highlights many luxuries aside from the gambling hall, which houses 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
